2015 Atlas Beverage Classes
/Atlas Oyster House is about to start their next semester of Atlas Beverage Classes (A.B.C.). This semester (August through December) the classes will include both craft beer classes and spririt classes. Each class will consist of four beverage tastings each paired with a small plate prepared by Fish House Chef Matthew Brown.
Every class will feature a presenter who, along with Great Southern Bar Manager Josh Goldman, will discuss the featured beverages. Classes will also cover information regarding the history of the brewery/distillery and their beers or spirits.

August 6: Domestic Spirits (Rye Whiskies)
- Michter’s Rye paired with applewood-smoked bacon and waffle bites with warm maple syrup
- Thirteenth Colony Distilleries Southern Rye paired with a popcorn tower and dipping sauces
- WhistlePig Rye paired with “Sausage en Croute”
- Angel’s Envy Rye paired with caramel vanilla ice cream Angel’s Envy float
September 3: Italian Liqueur-based Cocktails
- Iced Green Tea & Campari Toddy paired with BLT scallop tini
- Limoncello & Thyme Cooler paired with house-cured salmon with cucumber linguine and créme fraiche
- Averna & Apricot Collins paired with apricot mango salsa
- Strega Lemonade paired with lemon cheesecake
October 1: Fairhope Brewing Company
- S’Wheat Home American Pale Wheat Ale paired with seafood ceviche tini
- I Drink Therefore I Amber paired with crispy honey-glazed chicken
- (Take The) Causeway IPA paired with mac ’n’ cheese bites
- Fairhope 51 Pale Ale paired with pecan brown sugar bars
November 5: Domestic Spirits (Flavored Vodkas)
- Hangar 1 Madarin Blossom paired with Irish porter grilled cheese
- 44 North Mountain Huckleberry paired with roasted duck with grilled peaches and gorgonzola
- Crop Organic Tomato paired with sea salt and truffle shoestring fries
- Triple Eight Vanilla paired with milk and cookie shots
December 3: Shipyard Brewing Company
- Shipyard Export Ale paired with fried jalapeños
- Shipyard Monkey Fist IPA paired with smoked Gouda grits fritters
- Sea Dog Blue Paw Wildberry Wheat Ale paired with balsamic ketchup-glazed meatballs
- Sea Dog Sunfish paired with peach parfait
Classes will be held on the Deck Bar. Each class costs $20 per person (plus tax and gratuity), starts at 6pm, and is an hour long. The class fee gets the student one tasting of each of the featured beverages. Seating is limited and reservations are required.
