New Orleans International Beer Festival
/Spring is right around the corner and lucky for us it is accompanied by some great local beer festivals. The inaugural New Orleans International Beer Festival is being held at Champions Square, Saturday, March 24, 2012.
What exactly can you expect? The event description on from their FAQ states the following:
The Inaugural New Orleans International Beer Festival will showcase the growing popularity of craft beers from around the country and the world in a relaxed and friendly outdoor environment. Patrons will receive a commemorative sampling mug and have access to unlimited, two-ounce sampling of over 150 craft beers in the Gordon Biersch Beer Garden, Covington Brewhouse Beer Garden, Tin Roof Brewing Company Beer Garden, Saint Arnold Brewing Company Beer Garden and a separate NOLA Brewing beer garden for "cask" beer. The festival will also feature the Samuel Adams Brew University Education Area where patrons will enjoy beer seminars such as Cooking with Beer, Food Pairings, How to Brew Beer and other beer education sessions. Come enjoy the beautiful outdoor atmosphere with live music on the Blue Moon stage, as well as fun games like corn hole.
The list of participating breweries has not been posted yet but considering that the sponsors include Louisiana Craft Breweries Abita, Covington Brewhouse, Parish Brewing Company, NOLA Brewing, Tin Roof as well as Mississippi's Lazy Magnolia and Texas's Saint Arnold I can only imagine there will be a vast selection of great craft beers available.
Advance general admission tickets are only $40, check out the official site for more ticket info, and are on sale at TicketMaster.
For those who can't make the trip to New Orleans, don't worry we will be posting soon about upcoming Pensacola based beer festivals!
