Fairhope Brewing Company Expands into Pensacola

We have written a lot about Fairhope Brewing Company (FBC) over the last couple of years since they opened in 2013. They quickly became one of our favorite local breweries and we always enjoy making a trip to their tasting room whether to enjoy one of their great events or just relax and drink some of their outstanding brews.

Getting your hands on some of FBC offerings is about to get much easier as it will no longer require a trip into lower Alabama. FBC is teaming up with The Lewis Bear Company to bring their beers into the Pensacola area. FBC's distribution in Pensacola will initially consist of three beers (kegs only):

  • Fairhope 51
    Style: American Pale Ale
    ABV: 5.9%
    IBU: 56
    Fairhope No. 51 is a classic American pale ale, brewed with a combination of American-made Falconer's Flight hops and German hops. Named for being the 51st recipe entry into head brewer Dan's beer notebook, this pale ale is packed with hop flavor but not overly bitter.

  • (Take the) Causeway IPA
    Style: American IPA
    ABV: 7.5%
    IBU: 56
    Copious amounts of Citra and Simcoe hops are used throughout the brewing process in this American India Pale Ale. From first-wort to bittering, flavor, aroma and dry hops, an artful combination of just two extraordinary hops leads to an explosively hoppy finish on the palate.

  • S’Wheat Home
    Style: American Pale Wheat Ale
    ABV: 4.5%
    IBU: 12
    This American style wheat ale features Centennial hops from the Pacific Northwest and an artful blend of orange and tangerine peels, resulting in a crisp wheat beer perfectly suited to welcome summer in Lower Alabama.

The FBC official release will be at the Blue Wahoos game tonight. All three of their beers will be available for the great price of $3 each. You should start seeing FBC offerings appear around town this weekend, so let us know when you see one of their beautiful pelican tap handles at local venues!

On a related note. At the beginning of 2015, we wrote about FBC plans to bottle their beers this year, the bottling effort is coming together and they hope to have their first bottling run this week. While their bottled offerings will only be available in Lower Alabama at first, they eventually plan on making them available elsewhere.
